Every year, earning a Georgie Award nomination has been a hallmark of prestige and a symbol of excellence for the British Columbia residential building industry. No other construction industry awards in Canada are as widely recognized by consumers or as highly coveted by recipients as the Georgie’s.
The Georgie Awards celebrate outstanding achievement and excellence at the highest level of the BC residential construction industry. As BC’s premier housing awards, each year a wide range of industry firms including developers, homebuilders, contractors, renovators, architectural, design and marketing companies compete for the distinction of becoming a Georgie finalist.
The Georgie Awards are the British Columbia housing industries equivalent to an Oscar. Presented by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association of BC (CHBA BC), the competition proves to be increasingly challenging every year. 2011 marks the 20th anniversary of the awards, with entries up 20% over last year.
This years judging resulted in 68 companies winning recognition as finalists for the 2011 Georgia Awards, many with multiple nominations.

What started in 1992 as a way to highlight and celebrate homebuilding excellence in the province, the Georgie Awards has evolved to symbolize the “highest recognition of achievement” in the industry and now represents the “definition” of excellence in the innovative and dynamic British Columbia residential construction sector.
This year’s high caliber finalists represent the best of the best in the British Columbia residential construction industry. As candidates, they will be competing for the Gold in 47 categories at the 2011 Georgie Awards Gala celebration on February 25, 2012 at the Vancouver Convention Centre West.
